Bijayini Satpathy has developed an integrated physical conditioning for Odissi dancers, also appropriate for dancers of all Indian classical forms. In this body conditioning workshop, dancers will be introduced to a variety of techniques developed from Bijayini’s work with physical and sports therapists, and her practice in Yoga, Kalaripayattu, Natyashastra pedagogy, study of anatomy, physiotherapy, traditional Indian dance exercises as well as western contemporary and ballet exercises. This workshop will enable dancers to truly understand their body in aspects of strength, flexibility, endurance, alignment, balance, limitations and injury.

Age limit: 15+ years

Dress Code: Comfortable knee-length yoga clothing

Other essentials:

  • Yoga Mat

  • Notebook & pen

  • Water Bottle

  • Electrolyte - Vitamin C and glucose are great energy boosters. Please bring enough to last the whole session
