Parichay

Designed as a residential workshop at Adishakti, Pondicherry, Parichay will be led by Bijayini Satpathy and her senior student Prithvi Nayak with Priyadarsini Govind as a guest faculty for Abhinaya. Over 9 days, participants will train in Yoga, Natyshastra Charis, Body conditioning techniques and Bijayini Satpathy's Odissi pedagogy along with the language of Abhinaya, narrative dance. The dance sessions will be with live Mardala accompaniment.

IMPORTANT DETAILS:

• FEE: INR 35,000 for participants living in India/ INR 25,000 for participants living in Pondicherry and not requiring accommodation and food at Adishakti. USD 1000 for participants from outside of India/ USD 850 for participants from outside of India not requiring accommodation and food at Adishakti.

• Participants' Arrival & Orientation: 7th Jan 2024. Participants should aim to reach by 2 pm IST latest. Orientation will begin at 4 pm

• Workshop Dates: 8-16 Jan 2024

• Participants' Departure: 17th Jan 2024

• Access: Adishakti is accessible via road and bus from Chennai airport. We can assist in booking private cabs. All airport transfer expenses must be borne by the participants. Pondicherry also has an airport; however, the flights there are unreliable and we would not recommend

• Dress Code: Practice Saree for Odissi/Abhinaya Sessions; Comfortable Yoga clothing for  Body Conditioning Sessions. Laundry service will be available at an additional cost. Participants are advised to carry swimwear if they wish to access the unique Salt water swimming pool.

• Meals: Healthy vegetarian meals will be provided. Please inform us about any allergies in advance. We will not be able to cater to Vegan and Jain restrictions. 

• Accommodation: On double sharing basis. All rooms have an en-suite bathroom.
